Techs work at dealerships, fleet shops, independent garages, and in the field.
Most diesel techs start with a technical or community college diesel program (1–2 years) or a manufacturer/dealer apprenticeship. From there you build experience and earn ASE certifications (the industry standard) in different specialties.
